(1345 GMT) CORONAVIRUS CASES: The Czech Republic had 10,162 confirmed coronavirus cases by the end of Wednesday, with 51 new infections that day. Of those, 7,399 people have recovered and 333 people have died in connection with the disease. There were 2,430 active cases.
website BANKS: Central, Eastern and Southeastern European banks are set to be hit by a tide of bad loans that may last beyond 2021, a report from the Vienna Initiative grouping of lenders and policymakers said on Wednesday. CLIMATE: The mayors of Warsaw, Budapest, Prague and Bratislava have urged the European Union to set a more ambitious emissions reduction target for 2030, calling the escalating climate crisis a greater challenge than the coronavirus pandemic.
